For the personal projects, I took on the role of Art Director for the production if Death of the Big Blind. For this production, it was my job to find a filming location, acquire and maintain all props needed for the film and to keep the props in their proper locations while on set to maintain continuity throughout the film. This was the first time that I had taken on the role of art director and this production taught me about how important the position really is. For this production we filmed on location at Good Robot Brewing Company and this had its advantages and disadvantages. One of the advantages was that the bar had a very interesting look that worked for the time period we were going for, but on the other hand it had some modern technology throughout the room that needed to be covered up. During certain scenes of the film, the characters are seen playing poker and the cards that are flipped are specific to the script. For that scene it was my job to find a way to keep those cards in order for the entirety of the the scene. I am glad that I took on this role as my personal project as it taught me a lot about a part of the film industry that I had little knowledge about before.
